Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know about Award.
What is Award?
Award is a community-powered tool that tracks award seat availability across multiple airline loyalty programs. It shows you where seats are open — across cabin classes, fare tiers, and routes — so you can find the flights you want without searching one date at a time.
Which programs do you cover?
We currently track Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer, Qatar Airways Privilege Club, Cathay Pacific Asia Miles, Turkish Airlines Miles&Smiles, Air India Flying Returns, Air Canada Aeroplan, and United Airlines MileagePlus.
How does it work?
Members install a lightweight browser extension. When they search for award flights on supported airline websites, the extension shares the availability data it sees with Award. Every member's search makes the data better for everyone.
Is this affiliated with any airline?
No. Award is an independent, community-built project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any airline or loyalty program.
How fresh is the data?
Data freshness depends on community contributions. Each record includes a timestamp showing when it was last reported. Popular routes are updated more frequently. Always verify on the airline's website before booking.
What are fare families?
Airlines offer award seats at different price tiers. For example, KrisFlyer has Promo (cheapest), Saver, Advantage, and Access (most expensive but most available). Lower tiers are better value but harder to find. Other programs have their own structures — Qatar uses Off-Peak/Peak, Cathay Pacific and Turkish use a single Standard tier, Aeroplan has Standard/Flex/Latitude, and United uses dynamic Saver/Standard pricing.
What's the difference between confirmed and waitlisted?
Confirmed means seats are available for immediate booking. Waitlisted means no confirmed seats are currently available, but you can join a waitlist — your booking may clear closer to departure if passengers cancel.
Is my data safe?
The extension only shares flight availability information — cabin class, seat counts, fare tiers, and flight details. It never accesses or transmits personal information, account details, or booking data.
How can I contribute?
Install the browser extension and search for award flights as you normally would. The extension handles the rest automatically. The more you search, the more data you contribute.
Is this free?
Yes. Award is free to use. We're focused on building the best award search tool for the miles and points community.
